The used Kritter's Crumble is a valuable resource when used as a water-saving soil conditioner for your garden.
- Simply dig or trowel the recycled bedding into the soil of your garden beds, or into the soil around your trees. This will greatly improve the condition of your soils and water holding capacity.
- Recycled bedding can also be blended with soil or other potting media at a rate of approximately 20% recycled bedding with 80% other media to make a rich potting or planting mix. After placing the mix in your pots, water it thoroughly and let the water run off for a few minutes before planting. Never use recycled bedding as a straight potting mix (at a rate of 100%).
- You can also spread recycled litter on your lawns as a top dressing. Simply spread the recycled bedding over your lawns with a rake. Over time it will improve the condition and water holding capacity of the soil.
- Recycled bedding can be used at a rate of 100% as a hydroponic growing media. [Read more]
