Question: What will happen if a piece of Kritter’s Crumble is eaten by my animal?

Question: Why is Kritter’s Crumble wet when you open a bag?

Answer: The moisture content is optimal for fitting more volume of the product in a Smartbag, so you get more out of one bag. The product dries over time when spread out at the bottom of the enclosure, or the process can be sped up by flicking on the heating lights directly onto the bedding. Remember you can dry and wet Kritter’s Crumble according to your own pet’s needs, and can be re-wetted even after it fully dries out.

Question: When you remove or replace Kritter’s Crumble from an animal’s enclosure. What should I do with it?

Answer: You can spread it out in your garden, or spread on the lawn as top soil to condition the soil of your garden and watch your plants flourish and grow in a better fed garden. You can also add the used Kritter’s Crumble to your compost bin, to improve the compost.  If you don’t have a garden or a compost bin, place Kritter’s Crumble in your green waste bin or in a local government rubbish removal bin.

Question: How often should I replace Kritter’s Crumble in my animal’s enclosure?

Answer: Spot clean regularly. It is really up to individual users when to decide to replace the whole bedding. Check the facts sheet section for your particular animal to find out how often.

Question: Does Kritter’s Crumble come in a variety of fibre sizes?

Answer: Kritter’s Crumble is available in two different grades: Fine and Coarse. It is up to you which of the grades you think your pet will prefer. This decision can be based on the look you are trying to achieve in your set up or the needs of your animals e.g.: frogs would be better with a larger grade product as they consume large amounts of substrate at feeding time and with a more coarse grade they aren’t going to take as much in.
